Thunderbolt^™ 3 allows you to keep a Thunderbolt^™ 3 and add an additional USB Type-C^™ 3.1 Gen 1, 4K HDMI^™, USB^™ Type-A 3.1 Gen 1 x 2, USB^™ 3.0 memory card reader/writer through your two Thunderbolt^™3 ports. Thunderbolt^™ 3 uses the USB Type-C^™ connector to deliver faster speed (40 Gbps), more pixels (two 4K), higher power (up to 100W), and more protocols (Thunderbolt^™, USB^™, DisplayPort^™ and PCIe).
